Consider Suspension When Picking Your Mountain Bike Design
When it comes to mountain bike designs, it is very important that you choose the one that fits your style as well as your personality. Those who plan on biking often need to have the design that fits them. Maybe you are going to start mountain biking for the first time or perhaps you looking to take your cycling to the next level. You need to decide whether or not you would like a racing bike or if you are more interested in a mountain bike made for leisure travel.
The first type of mountain bikes that we are going to explore is going to be the rigid mountain bike, this is also known as the fully rigid mountain bike. This bike is actually a conventional bike as it does not have any rear suspension or any front suspension. In the past these were the common bikes and nearly everyone had one.
Today's bikes offer more rider comfort than outdated earlier designs, due mainly to the presence of a suspension system, front or rear. Generally speaking the least expensive bike for mountain riding is going to be a rigid suspension bike.
The next type of mountain bike is the hard-tail. The name of this bike comes from the fact that they do not have suspension in the rear. This bike is probably one of the most popular of the mountain bikes as it holds a front suspension and many people like the comfort of that. Although they cost slightly more, the difference between these models and the rigid ones clearly makes the extra investment worth it.
Next, there is a soft-tail mountain bike and this is the one that employs a rear suspension. Rear suspensions are actually some of the recent inventions as they are more complicated as a bike. If you are interested in comfort and a better ride you might want to spend the extra money on one of these bikes.
Finally, there are full suspension mountain bikes and these bikes have rear and front suspensions! This bike is honestly one of the latest and greatest inventions for the mountain bike and while they are the most expensive mountain bike, they are definitely worth it! These bikes came out in the nineties and the market for these bikes has just grown and grown!
